Bolivia Charging 11 Percent More For Gas

Bolivia has signed a deal whereby they will be able to charge Brazil eleven percent more for gas and that is not the only increase showing up. Brazilians will pay more for electricity, auto fuel and cooking gas as a result of this deal.

Itally at top of FIFA Rankings

After Brazil's 55 month at the top of FIFA's world rankings Italy has taken over because Brazil lost to eighth ranked Portugal last week. Italy has 1,562 points which is 22 more points than Brazil and 27 more than Argentina.

Shadow Hits Rio's Carnival

Early Wednesday a gunman killed a leader of one of the premiere samba band groups causing violence to enter Rio's Carnival. Guaracy Paes Falcao, 42, vide president of the Salgueiro samba band was fatally shot together with a woman who was accompanying him.

Soccer Fans Cause Riot

Clubs and rubber bullets were used by police to squash a riot which started before the game got under way. Some fans were hurt, received treatment and then were escorted to the police station.

Tragic Ending to Plane Ride

Six people aboard a twin-engine plane were killed when it crashed into the Amazon jungle about 25 miles from Cuiaba in Mato Grosso state from where it took off.
